Overview
Hallowed Gains LLC ("Hallowed Gains," "we," "us," or "our") builds digital tools and games for prayer, study, and learning — including A Simple Way to Pray and our forthcoming game Idle Bible. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to our websites at hallowedgains.com and asimplewaytopray.com, and to our mobile and web apps (collectively, the "Services"). Some apps have additional, app-specific terms in the app-specific sections below; if there is any conflict, the app-specific section controls for that app.
We are a small Lutheran software shop. We try to collect as little as possible, we don't sell personal information, and we don't run advertising networks against you.
Information we collect
The categories of information we may collect depend on which Service you use.
Information you provide directly
- Account information. If an app offers a sign-in option, we receive the information your sign-in provider sends us — typically a unique identifier and, depending on the provider and your settings, a name and email address (e.g., from Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password through Firebase Authentication).
- Saved progress and settings. Game saves, preferences, prayer-wall submissions, and similar content you create or save in our apps.
- Communications. If you contact us (for example, through our contact form, by email, or through a feedback link in an app), we receive the contents of that message and the email address you provide.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical information. Device model, operating system and version, app version, language, region, and a non-resettable or resettable device/installation identifier — used to make the Services work correctly and to debug issues.
- Usage and event analytics. Aggregated, mostly de-identified analytics about how the Services are used (screens opened, features used, session length, performance metrics). We use this to understand which features help people and which need work.
- Crash and diagnostic data. If an app crashes or throws an error, we collect a stack trace, device state, and app version so we can fix it.
- Log data. Standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps, user-agent) when you visit our websites or our backends.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect precise location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs in our apps.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services — including syncing your saved progress across your devices.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Diagnose problems, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
- Understand how features are used so we can improve them.
- Communicate with you about the Services (e.g., responding to support requests, important changes).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases (for users in the EEA / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, we process your personal data under the following bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you request (e.g., signing in, saving your progress).
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Services secure, debug crashes, and understand aggregate usage.
- Consent — where required (for example, certain analytics in regions that require opt-in). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate the Services. These providers process information on our behalf, under their own privacy terms, and only for the purposes we describe here.
- Google / Firebase (Authentication, Firestore / Cloud database, Hosting, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) — Firebase Privacy and Security, Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store / StoreKit, push notifications via APNs) — Apple Privacy.
- Google Play (app distribution and, if applicable, in-app billing) — Google Privacy Policy.
- Stripe (donations on hallowedgains.com) — Stripe Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Google Forms (our contact form is embedded from Google Forms) — Google Privacy Policy.
We may add or change service providers over time. When we do, we will update this list. The specific providers used by a particular app are listed in that app's section below.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as we need it to provide the Services and for the legitimate purposes described in this policy. In practice:
- Account data and saves are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or backup-rotation reasons.
- Analytics events are retained on rolling windows configured in our analytics tools (typically up to 14 months) and are mostly de-identified.
- Crash logs are retained for a limited diagnostic window (typically up to 90 days).
- Server logs are retained for short operational windows (typically 30–90 days).
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information.
- Portability — request a portable copy of your data.
- Objection / restriction — object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdrawal of consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You can also control certain things directly in your device settings — for example, you can reset your advertising identifier, opt out of analytics on iOS via App Tracking Transparency, or limit notifications.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information — including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where supported by our service providers, access controls, and the principle of least privilege. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our apps are intended for a general, family-friendly audience. They are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in some EU member states), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at contact@hallowedgains.com and we will promptly delete it.
Parents: we recommend supervising your child's use of any internet-connected app and using the parental-control features built into iOS, Android, and your home network.
International users and data transfers
Hallowed Gains is based in the United States. If you use our Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in the regions where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new app, change a service provider, or in response to legal changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, give you reasonable notice (such as a notice in the app or on this page). Your continued use of the Services after the change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Idle Bible
Idle Bible is an educational idle game published by Hallowed Gains LLC, available on iOS, Android, and the web. This section describes how Idle Bible specifically handles your information; the rest of this policy still applies.
What Idle Bible collects
- Account (optional). If you choose to sign in — for example with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password via Firebase Authentication — we receive a unique account ID and the basic profile fields you authorize (name, email). Sign-in is used solely to identify your save and is not required to play.
- Game progress and settings. Your save data (era progress, unlocked content, settings, achievements). When you are signed in, this is synced to our cloud database (Firebase / Cloud Firestore) so you can pick up on another device.
- Device and technical information. Device model, OS, app version, region/language, and an installation identifier so the game can run, sync, and be debugged.
- Analytics events. Aggregated events through Firebase Analytics — such as which eras are played, which features are used, and session length — so we can improve the game.
- Crash and performance data. Stack traces and basic device state through Firebase Crashlytics if the app crashes or hits an error.
What Idle Bible does not do
- No third-party advertising SDKs and no ads.
- No precise location.
- No access to contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- No sale of personal information; no sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- No "pay-to-win" data harvesting — the game is designed to stay out of your way.
In-app purchases
If Idle Bible offers any optional purchases (for example, a one-time tip or supporter pack), payments are processed by the App Store, Google Play, or Stripe (on web). We do not receive your full payment card details — we only receive a confirmation that the purchase succeeded and a platform-issued transaction identifier.
Push notifications (if enabled)
With your permission, Idle Bible may send occasional reminders or content notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android / web) and APNs (iOS). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Audience
Idle Bible is family-friendly and designed to be appropriate for all ages, but it is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. See Children's privacy above.
Deleting your Idle Bible data
To delete your Idle Bible cloud save and account data, sign out and use the in-app "Delete account" option (when available) or email contact@hallowedgains.com from the address associated with your account. Local save data on your device can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
